Restore auto or manually

Hi,
Suppose if my database sql server 2000 have problem or damage
so once i repair the same should i have to restore all databases
manually or its automatically recovered by sqlserver 2000

If yoy uninstall and then install SQL Server instance then you have to
restore all user databaases
