Hi,
I have a SQL 7.0 server and SQL 2000 server (new). There are 2 databases on
the old server (7.0). I like to move them to the new server. I don't know if
I can do the restore from the backup of 7.0 to new server 2000.
Secondly, not long ago, I restored one database from backup of 7.0 to 7.0,
database has been restored, but all tables were missing index. Not sure what
caused this.
We are using veritas backup exec for windows.
Appreciate any help,
SarahYes, you can restore a 7.0 backup into 2000.
Restore essentially gives you an image of the database, so it would be impos
sible for a restore to
not include indexes. Something else must have been going on.

Thanks so much for your response.
For missing index, I thought so too, I will look further to see if anything
wrong with the backup.
Appreciate your help,
Sarah
